Boric Acid for Ants
I have found nothing better than boric acid for ants for controlling, curbing the annoying invasions of ants and to eliminate them totally from my home and other buildings on my property.
When I was a kid I loved to play with them. But now, when they invade my home or office it is just war! Fortunately I have found an extremely easy way to eliminate any invasion of ants. The simple use of a powered boric acid for ants product takes care of these pesky critters in a short time.
Rather than calling an exterminator who will most likely spray some toxic chemical around your place why not use an old remedy that has worked for people like you and me as well as the experts. I can testify to the effects of this remedy that at least for me this has worked as well as any chemical I have ever used In the past. Including those applied from or by an extermination company. It’s simple, safe and very effective. Just the use of good old boric acid for ants seems to get rid of them in a hurry. Now I use the powered kind. I have used a product from a company called PIC which comes in a handy one pound container.
Rather than running to the local hardware store to purchase Raid, Senoret Bayer Crop, Terro, AMDRO, HG-53225-5, or any other toxic chemical here is how to get rid of house ants that I have found works the best is simply this. First observe what the ants are going after. Is it sugar or is it fat (protein). Seems like it is one or the other. So when I figure out what the ants are searching for then I am going to give them more of it with a treat if you know what I mean. Just do the following when you determine what the ants are after:
If they are attracted to sugar:
Take some of that powered boric acid for ants and mix it with some syrup or sugar or anything that they have been attracted to. . Syrup or even honey has worked the best for me. Those ants just cannot seem to resist taking it away to their nests to allow the boric acid to do its job. I almost feel sorry for what is about to happen to them! The ratio for the mixing of boric acid with the syrup or sugar is about one to one.
If they are attracted to fat:
Take some of the drippings from your next meal or some peanut butter and mix in a nice portion of the powered boric acid for ants and then place the mixture where the ants are active. It’s like ringing the dinner bell! Tonight were all having steak! Wow what a treat! I am not a believer that red meat is not good for me but I can almost guarantee it’s not going to be pretty for these ants. Poor little guys. The ratio is about one to one again.
I then simply place the mixture on a small piece of cardboard or in a cup or some container that I was planning on discarding anyway and place them where the ants are active. It will take a few days and you will see less ants, then just keep on adding to the mix till the ants are all gone. Usually takes a week or two and that is about it.
How to get rid of house ants, why does it work?
If you are like me I don’t really care if it’s safe and it’s not going to hurt me and my family including my pets I just want those pesky ants out of my house. Anyway the reason it works as I understand it is simply this. Ants that come in contact with the power will die after particles are ingested. So if you know where these little creatures trails are just put some power along their trails and that will help eliminate them as well. Personally I have found that giving it to them in the above mixing methods is better. It seems that if they ingested it and take it to their home the elimination is not just for the ones that are in my home but also to the entire colony.
CAUTION: Do not allow your children or pets to ingest any of the boric acid for ants as it is not healthy for them, it is toxic, and could cause health issues.
So give this simple boric acid for ants a try and see if it does the job for you. Its effective, simple, eco friendly and it’s cheep.
